Nice.

The percussion could use a bit more variety, I feel. Overall, though, the quality is very good, even though this sounds a bit generic to me. It's a nice song though--I could probably listen to it for an hour or so before getting tired of it.

Claxor responds:

Yeah, that's kinda the way I meant it to be, a song you wont get tired of :), I'll maybe use it in a game or something :D

Nice work!

This is a great song! The instruments you use really add to the the futuristic theme you have--although I think the use of "warm" synths in the song betrays the title-- "World of Cold Metal" makes me think of something grungy and industrial, whereas this is more of a light, upbeat song. I shouldn't be one to talk; I suck at naming my pieces. But isn't that why classical musicians always title their stuff things like "Symphony No. 3?"

quickshot-x responds:

My system isn't really programmed for electronic music. I had just used what I had to make some new wave. The pad was a sample I used, and it had a little touch of the chello if you noticed :), thankyou for your review.

Amazing.

This is an excellent rendition of the guitar theme from Snake Eater--in fact, I'd say it would be way better than the original if it had burst into a full orchestra like the original does. But, orchestra or not, this song is perfect.

Nice. I like it!

The opening pad sounded like a really low Gregorian chant. I like it. It's cool.

The rest of the pads were very well-done, and I enjoyed the way they sounded. I liked your little whooshing synth.

The only thing I don't like about this song was your kick. It sounded weak to me, and it stood out too much. Maybe use something that blends in with the song a bit more?

Karco responds:

Yeah, those are some really cool pads I used in my song. Hmm... a Gregorian chant? That never occurred to me. But if you like it, I'm not complaining. Hah!

The whooshing synth was nice, I'd have to agree. But then again, of course I'd agree - if I didn't like it, why would it be in the song?

Hmm... the kick sounded weak? Well, it's not supposed to be hard and thumping, this is a calming song. I don't see how it stood out, though it might have before I actually had real percussion work, hitting at a rapid rate and slowing down. Hmm.

Glad you like it, thanks for reviewing. =D

Good, but too staticky...

I liked the drums, as well as the synths, but the quality sounded poor, the static that accompanied the saw hurt my ears. Find a way to get rid of the unwanted noise.

CyrusOfNaias responds:

The noise is a little aggressive. Perhaps this should have joined the ACID collection instead. This is the first song I used the Slicer in. Yes, I'm a slow learner...
Thanks for the advice, though.

Nice job.

I really have never heard music like this before.
I liked the guitar. I remember that sytrus--
Distortio, right?
The synths are good as well. The drumbeat, too, is pretty good, nice job mixing the DrumLoops.
However, I think that the brass sytruses sounded a little weak.

CyrusOfNaias responds:

Ya it's the distorto guitar. I find the majority of plugins that I like already preset. I have a friend that helps me get stuff like z3ta etc.

Thanks for the review. This is currently my 4th actual original song. I got inspired by watching T3 for a third time.

Great work yet again.

The trumpet and strings provide a beautiful and somber atmosphere. I liked it. The only thing I didn't like was how totally fake the acoustical guitar sounded in this piece. Luckily, once the strings get loud enough, the guitar doesn't stand out much and sounds better.

madboss responds:

Well thanks for the rev!

Fake guitarre!? Looks like I got a fake Hans Zimmer guitar-collection - because the sound was taken from there.

But I'm glad that you liked it after all.

Once again, "Crimson Tide."

This has a bit of a "Crimson Tide" feel to it as well, but the strings and synths add a bit of a MGS 2 feel. I thought that the brass sounded a bit wierd, like its pitch was modulating too much or something. It sounded all right in the second part, with the choir. This was just really action-packed, I could feel it in the frantic movements of the strings and drum loop.

madboss responds:

Hehe... Crimson Tide... I wanted to re-make the "Rock" after my taste... ah well, Crimson Tide is as good:)

Yes the brass. I'll find better ones - the weird sound is probably because of the reverb or chorus effect I put on them to make them sound more like a section not just one instrument.

But I'm happy that you enjoied this piece. Thanks for your support!

Nice.

Once again, this is very Crimson Tide-ish. I've always loved choiral work myself. I liked the use of the acoustical guitar yet again, it provided a bit more variety than the same old strings and choir. The only problem is that it cuts off way too abruptly.

madboss responds:

Yes I know - but since this 6 songs was meant to be a big one track I had to cut it somewhere. Downoad all the 6 play them in winamp with crossfade on 2 secs. and you'll get a 17 min. constant track.

I'm glad you liked this piece again!

Nice work yet again.

Your last Commando pieces had a very Hans Zimmer/Crimson Tide feel, but I think this one has a bit more of a Harrison Gregson-Williams/Metal Gear Solid 2 feel to it, with the synths and rhythmic drums in the second half.

Personally, I think that it could use more epic brass. (Yes, more.)

madboss responds:

Yeah brass... The main problem is that I don't have cool and realisticly sounding brass sound. I'd love to use brass staccato but it's difficult as hell to make tham from my existing refill samples. I'm trying to get some new but they don't sound that realistic that I'd like.

Still thanks for the rev!
