Ooh, I like.

It sounds very "Crimson Tide"-ish, do you listen to a lot of Hans Zimmer stuff? Anyway, I liked this, but it could use a bit more orchestration in the beginning.

madboss responds:

Haha... yes I love Hans Zimmer stuff! Altough I wanted to make some Rock-like music - I think the beginning horns made you to think of Crimson Tide.

I don't wanted to have a big orchestration in the beginning because this series was not meant to be too epic - but yeah maybe some more classical instruments would work better in the beginning.

Thanks for the rev!

Good work.

This sounds very Legend of Zelda-ish...and that's a great thing! I like the flute and percussion most of all. The glocken that accompanies the lead brass is a nice touch. I think that the rhythmic percussion in the background is great, but should be more panned back and forth, like how I do it in my more recent songs, but that's just the Metal Gear Solid influence in me talking.

The only complaint I have is that I don't like how it fades out, I'd much prefer it to loop.

quickshot-x responds:

oh sorry about the ending, i just like to make things fade out, it's like a little habit you know, and making the rythmic percussion pan back and forth, i like the way it is really :p thanks for the review sir.

Nice job.

I can't give high points for originality, but the instrumentation (is that even a word?) is high-quality. The sounds and samples are great, too. However, I find it not "thrash"-y enough. If I were you, I'd enhance the drums a bit, too, but that's just me.

Buoy responds:

NOT trashy enough? >:-(
Thanks for the review.

Meh.

I can tell that you're just getting started with Fruity Loops. You appear to have not moved beyond the piano roll. Do not fear, as I have come to make you better!

You can start by bringing more instruments into the mix. FL presets can sound FANTASTIC when they're used correctly. Remember that melodies and countermelodies are cool. Drum loops are better varied. The 3xOsc is wicked, and the sytrus kicks ass. Reeverb and EQUO are your friend.

And check out the Fruity Loops Help Thread in the Audio Forum.

Let's toast to your potential as a musician! And remember, HAVE FUN WITH IT!

BlackPlastic responds:

I shall take your suggestions into mind.

OMG!

This piece is fucking SCARY! I was listening to it, and my friend(who didn't know what I was listening to) tapped me on the shoulder and scared the BEJEEZUS out of me.
It sounds a little X-files-ish, and the wierd voice makes me think of aliens and Roswell...don't ask me why...

In short, fantastic piece, even if I am too scared to listen to it anymore. It sounds very professional. You could go to work scoring a horror videogame or movie right now if you wanted to!

Dj-Rec0il responds:

haha thats good that you got scared thats the goal of this song to sound scary and the voices are recorded by me that i rewind and put some delay on and im glad you liked it cya soon buddy peace

Whoa...

In the beginning, I feel like I'm being chased by misshapen demons from a non-Euclidean alternate dimension that want my soul, all the while doing shrooms. I still retain a bit of this feeling in the rest of the song, with the glitchy drums, but the organ, piano, and strings kind of give it a sadder or darker mood. Hmm...maybe it's raining while the demons are chasing me. The scream didn't fit in very well, you should have had it fade in while the instruments were fading out, oh, and it would have been cool if you had slightly glitched it up, screwed with it...

Well, there's my three cents. I'm giving you an extra cent because I'm feeling generous.

Stealth-Emergence responds:

Cool! I like those 3 cents!

Thanks for your review T.A.A.

Looks like I owe some reviews out to people, I'll do some catching up with that tomorrow! I swear

Peace Out!

Nice.

All right, this is a good song. Action-packed, intense, nice. But I think that a bit too much of the song was panned to the left. It felt like all the cool stuff was happening to my left. However, I like your effects, such as the whistle and chainsaw. Also, nice work on putting in that Agent Smith quote. It was a nice touch. But it could have used a more machine-like percussion at the end than a light tinkly metal hit. Maybe less tinkly.

itsameyayo responds:

Yeah, the left panning stuff was a stupid mistake back in the day of having bad mixing and balancing sound and the sort, so go figure the n00b in me appeared there : D

-Thanks for the review!!! Alright, maybe more percussion at the end, stupid me got impatient and wanted instant reward, bad me > 8 D

Eh...

I'm not really a screamo fan, but this sounds pretty nice. How did you make this? Do you have a band with your friends or something like that?

Setu-Firestorm responds:

No, actually, ironically, it's all virtual. The guitars were done with MusicLab's "RealGuitar" and the bass and drums were done with Hypersonic. Also, the guitars were run through the "GreenMachine Amp" for distortion.

Thanks for the review.

I like!

Pretty good job. The synths are beautiful and symphonic, and the drums are very well done. Are you using Reason?

Anyway, great job, check out some of my stuff too.

Setu-Firestorm responds:

Nope. This was purely FL Studio 6. I wanted to try making songs strictly in FL Studio (although I caved in and went back to Nuendo).

Thanks for the review, and I've been checking out a lot of your stuff. I'm very much liking it.

Whoa!

I love this piece. I want to marry it. The percussion and choir vaguely reminds me of Metal Gear Solid 2 songs like "Arsenal is Going to Take Off" and such. The only problems are that it doesn't loop perfectly and the high tremolo strings can get annoying

Setu-Firestorm responds:

Yeah sorry. I noticed that as well. I'm a huge fan of high tremolo strings, and this piece acted as a lesson to me of what happens when you drown a piece in too much of one instrument.
